Supporting our Armed Forces

We are a 'forces friendly' setting!

We support the needs of Armed Forces families by recognising the challenges they face as part of their lifestyle. We are mindful of the changes Armed Forces families face and are sensitive to the wellbeing of the Armed Forces child during these times.

We focus on:

• Understanding Military Lives 
  • We understand that military families can move frequently. Our setting is dedicated to helping children settle in quickly and supporting them if they have to leave.
• Supporting Emotional Wellbeing
  • We know that children of service personnel may experience anxiety due to parental deployment or absence. Staff can support children during these unsettling times. We have dedicated resources for children going through this deployment/separation.
  • We use military related resources to promote understanding of the military lifestyle and of military children through dress-up, books and displays.
  • We have good links to other services in the city that support military families. We can signpost and refer families to the relevant support should they need it.
