This site is located inside The John Pounds Centre on Queen Street, just a short walk from the Gosport/Isle of Wight Ferry entrance and main bus routes of Portsmouth. We also have the HMS Nelson entrance within a 5 minute walk of our front door.
We are situated on the first floor of the John Pounds Community Centre. We have two airy light rooms, one for our babies and toddlers - babies have their own section, but can see and interact with toddlers and a larger room for our 3-plus year olds to give them further learning opportunities.
Each group of children have their own garden time in our outside space, making full use of bikes, trikes, mud kitchen, planting and exploratory activities during morning and afternoon sessions. Babies also have use of our 6 seater buggy and go on regular trips in the local area, including Victoria Park and The Historic Dockyard.
We make good use of the library which is onsite as well as the sports halls, particularly when the weather is poor, or when we put on our popular parent events like craft mornings and Christmas celebrations. We have a new community cafe onsite and are looking forward to visiting them in small groups and maybe even organising the children's Christmas lunch there!
